What is DreamText ?
DreamText characters are large jpeg images of the highest quality
with no compression applied.
Each image has a corresponding black and white image that is used as an alpha
channel by the
DreamText plug-in. Please note that the quality of these jpeg images are indistinquishable from
the tiff files they were made from and so were used because of their smaller file sizes. All the samples
on this website however are out of necessity at a lower quality than the downloadable DreamText characters
which by the way look absolutely superb in print.
Is it vector ?
No, even though vector artwork can be scaled to any size while
retaining it's quality, it cannot be used
for photo quality images such as DreamText. The DreamText image is large so
that it usually needs to
be reduced in size to fit the final artwork.
Is DreamText a font ?
Technically speaking DreamText characters do not contain splines
or kerning information and
cannot be used in the same way that a font is used. DreamText is more similar
to Photo Objects or
photo clip art. That is why the plug-in is needed to assemble the text.
What does the Plug-in do ?
The plug-in is very simple to use and takes less than a few
minutes to learn.
It's a Photoshop plug-in that allows you to simply type what you want, choose
a set and hit the OK button,
the plug-in does the rest automatically.
What languages does DreamText support ?
DreamText is suited for English, French, Spanish and German.
What are the requirements ?
The plug-in requires a Mac or Windows machine running Adobe
Photoshop 6 or newer.
Can the letters be rotated to be viewed from
other angles ?
No.
What does each set include ?
Upper and lowercase letters, numbers, punction, symbols and
the accents needed for French, Spanish and German.
